Chinese New Year - 2012

Gong Xi Fa Chai

Finally, the year of Dragon is here!! Wishing everyone to have a great fortune ahead. Living in Australia for the last 5 years, makes me miss all the tradition i used to do back in Medan. Back then in Medan, a week before CNY, we going to break our piggy bank and rushing to the market to buy new cloth. At home the smell of a freshly baked cake fill through the house. The eldest will be busy preparing the foods and red pocket (Hong Bao) to be given out to the kids. Then, people start visiting their elders and other relatives.

Here in Australia, you can't really feel Chinese New Year celebration. People busy with their job, no time to bake the cake and if you have relatives, most of them lives far away. Meaning, no Red Pocket.
However, lucky me to at least still celebrate the Chinese New Year Eve by having family dinner.

Well, I hope this Water Dragon really gives us the fortune rain for each of us.
